This market focuses on predicting which team will score the first touchdown in an upcoming college football game. It includes scenarios where either team scores first or if no team manages to score a touchdown at all during the game, including any overtime periods.
The event determines which team, if any, scores the first touchdown in the Colorado vs Northwestern college football game scheduled for September 19, 2026. If Northwestern scores the first touchdown—whether offensively, defensively, or via special teams, even in overtime—the corresponding market resolves to Yes. Similarly, if Colorado scores the first touchdown under any of these conditions, its market resolves to Yes. Should neither team score a touchdown throughout the entire game, including overtime, the “No team scores a TD” market resolves to Yes. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of its original scheduled start time, all markets remain open and resolve based on the final official result. If the game does not start within this 48-hour window, all markets resolve to a fair price. The markets are independent of any official affiliation with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from those offered by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin, while this market is driven purely by traders' beliefs about the outcome. If a significant discrepancy exists between the implied probability in this market and sportsbook odds, it might suggest differing opinions on the likely scenario. However, as the event approaches, these odds tend to converge as more information is factored in by both groups.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book, where traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome. The price of a contract reflects the market's probability of that outcome occurring; a higher price indicates a greater perceived chance. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders are constantly adjusting their bids and asks based on new information and their own analysis, creating a dynamic pricing mechanism. This means the odds will change in real-time as more people participate and share their perspectives on which team will score the first touchdown.
This market resolves around Sep 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The team that is officially recorded as scoring the first touchdown in the Colorado versus Northwestern game will determine the winning contract. The resolution will be based on official game statistics and sources, ensuring an objective determination of the result. Traders holding the winning contract will be paid out according to the final market price at resolution.
Several factors could influence the price movement in this market. News regarding key player injuries for either Colorado or Northwestern would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they favor a specific team's offensive style, could also shift expectations. Furthermore, any updates on team strategies or coaching decisions might prompt traders to reassess the probabilities. Even public sentiment and betting trends observed elsewhere could contribute to fluctuations in this market as traders react to new information and adjust their positions.
