This market tracks which team will lead at the end of the first half in an upcoming college football game. It reflects the competitive performance of the teams during the initial 30 minutes of play, offering insight into early-game momentum without considering the full-game outcome.
The market resolves based on which team is leading at the end of the first half of the Colorado vs Northwestern college football game scheduled for September 19, 2026. If Northwestern scores more points than Colorado in the first half, the 'Northwestern wins 1st Half' market resolves to Yes. Conversely, if Colorado scores more points than Northwestern in the first half, the 'Colorado wins 1st Half' market resolves to Yes. If both teams score the same number of points in the first half, the 'Tie 1st Half' market resolves to Yes. For all markets, only points scored during the first half count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the governing league, and all trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Generally, prediction market odds tend to reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often proving more accurate than traditional sportsbook odds, especially as the event approaches. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while this market allows traders to directly assess probabilities. However, initial sportsbook lines can sometimes differ significantly from the opening prices on Kalshi. It's common to see discrepancies, particularly before significant betting activity occurs, as sportsbooks may prioritize attracting action on certain outcomes. Over time, these odds often converge as more information becomes available and more people trade.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome. The price of a contract reflects the market’s implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy contracts for a particular team, the price increases, and the implied probability rises. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market depth, represented by the buy and sell orders, indicates the level of conviction among traders. The current top outcome, as indicated by the highest implied probability, is a Tie in the 1st half, though this can change rapidly with new trading activity.
This market resolves around Sep 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result will be determined by which team is leading at the end of the first half of the Colorado versus Northwestern football game. The official score at halftime will be used to determine the winning outcome. Any potential overtime or adjustments to the score after the first half will not be considered in the resolution of this market. The outcome is based solely on the official halftime score as reported by official sources.
Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. News regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Colorado or Northwestern would likely cause significant shifts in the odds. Unexpected weather conditions, such as heavy rain or strong winds, could also impact the perceived advantage of either team. Furthermore, any major announcements related to team strategy or coaching changes could move the market. Public sentiment, reflected in polls or expert analysis, can also play a role, though the market often diverges from these external indicators as traders incorporate their own information and analysis.
