This event tracks the total bases accumulated by individual Los Angeles Dodgers players during their matchup against Colorado on July 7, 2026. Total bases are calculated by counting singles as one base, doubles as two bases, triples as three bases, and home runs as four bases.
Settlement is based on official box score statistics for the game scheduled July 7, 2026 at 10:10 PM EDT. For each player, only plate appearances while in the starting lineup count toward the outcome. If a player is scratched or not in the starting lineup, the market resolves to fair market price. If a player starts but records no plate appearances, the market resolves to fair market price. Pinch-hit at-bats do not count. If a player starts and records at least one plate appearance, the market settles based on the total bases actually recorded during the game.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven by traders seeking to profit from accurate forecasts. This market aggregates the collective judgment of participants betting real money on the outcome, which can sometimes offer an alternative perspective to traditional sportsbook pricing on total bases for the game.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders submit bids and asks for shares representing different total bases outcomes. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the balance of buy and sell pressure, with shares trading between 0 and 100 cents. As new information emerges or trader sentiment shifts, prices adjust in real time, allowing you to enter or exit positions at market rates that reflect current consensus.
This market resolves around Jul 8, 2026, after the Rockies-Dodgers game concludes and the final statistics are verified. The outcome is determined by the combined total bases accumulated by both teams during the contest, confirmed once the event result is verifiable from credible public reporting. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome receive their payout once resolution is official.
Key catalysts for this market include lineup announcements, injury updates to star players, recent offensive performance trends, and weather conditions on game day. Starting pitcher matchups significantly influence scoring expectations, as does each team's recent run production and defensive form. Breaking news about player availability or trades could shift market prices as traders reassess the likelihood of a high or low total bases outcome. Real-time game developments will also drive final adjustments as the contest approaches.
