This event tracks runs batted in (RBIs) by individual Los Angeles Dodgers players during their July 7, 2026 game against Colorado. An RBI is credited when a batter's action directly results in a runner scoring.
Settlement is based on official box score statistics for the game scheduled July 7, 2026 at 10:10 PM EDT. For each player, only plate appearances while in the starting lineup count toward the outcome. If a player is scratched or not in the starting lineup, the market resolves to fair market price. If a player starts but records no plate appearances, the market resolves to fair market price. Pinch-hit at-bats do not count. If a player starts and records at least one plate appearance, the market settles based on the RBIs actually recorded during the game.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets aggregate trader beliefs through continuous price discovery. This market may show different implied probabilities than traditional sportsbooks, especially as new information emerges closer to game time. Comparing the two can reveal where consensus differs and highlight potential value opportunities.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing different RBI outcomes. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each contract reflects the collective belief of all participants about that outcome's likelihood. As traders submit bids and asks, the market price adjusts in real time. Higher prices indicate stronger confidence in an outcome, while lower prices suggest skepticism. This continuous auction process ensures prices remain responsive to new information and trading activity.
This market resolves around Jul 8, 2026, once the game concludes and official statistics are finalized. The outcome is determined by the combined RBI total credited to both teams during regulation play, verified against credible public sources. Once the event is complete and the result is confirmed, the market settles automatically based on which outcome bracket the final RBI count falls into. Traders holding the winning contracts receive their payout shortly after resolution.
Several factors can shift prices in this market before the game begins and during play. Lineup announcements, injury reports, and weather conditions at the stadium all influence offensive potential. Betting action from sharp traders often precedes public awareness of these developments. Once the game starts, early scoring, pitcher changes, and momentum swings will drive real-time repricing. Late-breaking news about key players or game conditions can trigger sudden volatility, so active traders monitor sports news closely leading up to first pitch.
