This event tracks home runs hit by individual Los Angeles Dodgers players during their July 7, 2026 game against Colorado. A home run is credited when a batter hits the ball over the outfield fence or otherwise scores on a single hit.
Settlement is based on official box score statistics for the game scheduled July 7, 2026 at 10:10 PM EDT. For each player, only plate appearances while in the starting lineup count toward the outcome. If a player is scratched or not in the starting lineup, the market resolves to fair market price. If a player starts but records no plate appearances, the market resolves to fair market price. Pinch-hit at-bats do not count. If a player starts and records at least one plate appearance, the market settles based on the home runs actually recorded during the game.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and protect their margin, while prediction markets like this one are driven by trader belief and financial incentives to forecast accurately. Traders here are putting real capital behind their views, which can surface sharper estimates than traditional betting lines. Comparing this market's odds to major sportsbooks can reveal where consensus differs and highlight potential value opportunities based on your own analysis.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through continuous order-book trading, where buyers and sellers submit bids and offers that determine the real-time odds. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price reflects the marginal trade—the last transaction executed—and moves dynamically as new orders flow in. Traders can enter or exit positions at any time before resolution, and the bid-ask spread represents the current disagreement between buyers and sellers on the probability of the outcome.
This market resolves around Jul 8, 2026, once the Colorado versus Los Angeles game concludes and the final home run count is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the actual number of home runs hit during the matchup, confirmed through official game records. Until that point, traders can continue to buy and sell positions as new developments—injuries, weather, lineup changes—emerge and influence expectations.
Several catalysts can shift odds in this market before Jul 8, 2026. Lineup announcements, player injuries, or roster changes for either team will influence home run expectations. Weather conditions at game time—wind speed and direction, temperature—affect ball carry and can meaningfully impact power-hitting outcomes. Recent performance trends, bullpen availability, and starting pitcher matchups also drive trader sentiment. Breaking news about key players or unexpected roster moves can trigger sharp repricing as the market incorporates new information.
