This set of markets tracks how many points each team will score in an upcoming college football game. Each market has a different threshold for the number of points a team must exceed for the market to resolve positively.
All markets resolve based on the official final point totals from the Colorado vs Baylor college football game scheduled for September 26, 2026. For each market, if the specified team scores more than the stated threshold points, the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of its original start time, the markets remain open and resolve according to the updated result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price, ensuring equitable treatment for all participants regardless of the specific point threshold they bet on.
Frequently, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market reflects the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to accurately predict the outcome. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply varying interpretations of the teams' strengths and weaknesses. If significant differences exist, opportunities for arbitrage may emerge, where traders can profit by simultaneously betting on both the prediction market and a sportsbook. It’s important to compare both to form a well-rounded opinion.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction, meaning traders buy and sell contracts representing different team total outcomes. The price of each contract reflects the market’s probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy a contract, its price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market depth – the number of buy and sell orders at various price points – indicates the level of agreement among traders. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust its predictions as the event approaches.
This market resolves around Sep 26, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the final, official team totals for both Colorado and Baylor as reported by a major sports data provider will determine the result. The market will settle to 100 if the actual combined team totals fall within a defined range, and to the corresponding value if they fall outside that range. Traders will then receive payouts based on their positions and the final outcome.
Several factors could influence the price of this market leading up to Sep 26, 2026. Key injuries to star players on either Colorado or Baylor would likely cause significant shifts in the odds. Unexpected changes in weather conditions, such as heavy rain or strong winds, could also impact the expected scoring output. Furthermore, any news regarding team morale, coaching decisions, or strategic adjustments could sway trader sentiment. Finally, late-breaking analysis from sports experts or prominent commentators could also contribute to price movements in this market.
