Description

This event group covers prediction markets on which team scores first in the Colombia vs. Portugal FIFA World Cup match scheduled for June 27, 2026. The markets track first-goal outcomes across different time windows and handle scenarios where neither team scores.

PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi includes extra time in its resolution window, while Polymarket explicitly excludes extra time and penalty shootouts, limiting resolution to the first 90 minutes plus stoppage time only.Hero tip: If the match reaches extra time, Kalshi and Polymarket outcomes may differ. A first goal in extra time resolves Kalshi but leaves Polymarket unresolved at that moment. Consider the tournament format and historical extra-time frequency when sizing positions across platforms.

Critical divergence points:

  • Kalshi: Resolves Yes if Portugal scores first, Colombia scores first, or neither scores during the entire game including regulation, stoppage, and extra time. Key Quote: 'during the entire game (regulation, stoppage and any extra time periods)'
  • Polymarket: Resolves to Colombia, Portugal, or Neither based only on first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time, with extra time and penalty shootouts explicitly excluded. Key Quote: 'This market refers only to the outcome within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time. Extra time and penalty shoot-outs are excluded.'
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Polymarket

In the upcoming match between Colombia and Portugal, scheduled for June 27, 2026 at 7:30 PM ET: This market will resolve to "Colombia" if Colombia are the first to score within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time. This market will resolve to "Portugal" if Portugal are the first to score within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time. If neither team scores within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time, this market will resolve "Neither". If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve to "Neither". This market refers only to the outcome within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time. Extra time and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome.

Kalshi

Resolution is based on which team records the first goal during the entire match, including regulation, stoppage time, and any extra time periods. If the first goal is an own goal, the market resolves based on the team awarded the goal. If no team scores throughout the entire match, the no goal market resolves to Yes.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets like those tracked here operate on continuous trading rather than fixed lines, meaning odds shift dynamically as new information arrives and traders adjust positions. Unlike traditional sportsbooks, which set odds to balance liability, prediction markets aggregate distributed beliefs through price discovery. This can lead to sharper or slower reactions depending on trader participation and information flow. For this event, comparing the live odds on Polymarket and Kalshi to major sportsbook lines reveals how efficiently markets price first-goal scenarios relative to professional oddsmakers.

Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform operates under distinct market rules, liquidity pools, and trader demographics, which can produce price gaps on the same outcome. Polymarket and Kalshi may also differ in how they frame the question—for instance, one platform emphasizes Portugal scoring first while another highlights the neither-team scenario—leading traders to focus on different branches of the outcome tree. Arbitrage opportunities and varying levels of market depth between platforms can sustain these spreads until traders exploit them.

Team news—injuries to key strikers or defensive players—can significantly shift odds, as can recent form, head-to-head records, and lineup announcements closer to kickoff. Betting market activity and sharp money flowing into sportsbooks often precedes prediction market moves, so monitoring external sports betting platforms may signal incoming repricing. Weather conditions, pitch quality, and referee assignments can also influence early-game dynamics. Real-time updates during the pre-match period and any last-minute tactical changes will likely trigger volatility in this market.
