Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market’s pricing is driven purely by traders willing to buy or sell based on their own analysis. This can lead to discrepancies, especially as new information emerges. It's common to see prediction markets more accurately forecast probabilities, particularly when there’s strong public interest and informed trading activity. Examining the difference between these sources can provide a more nuanced understanding of the expected outcome.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders can buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of these shares directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and express their views, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment. The market’s price movements are driven by supply and demand, with higher demand pushing prices up and increased supply driving them down. This dynamic pricing ensures the market remains responsive to new information and changing sentiment.

This market resolves around Sep 26, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Collingwood Magpies versus Geelong Cats AFL Grand Final match. The platform will verify the result against widely available and trusted sources to ensure accuracy. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will be entitled to a payout, while those holding shares in the losing outcome will forfeit their investment. Several factors could influence the price of this market before the AFL Grand Final. Any significant news regarding player injuries, team selection changes, or unexpected coaching decisions could trigger shifts in trader sentiment. Performance in lead-up matches, weather forecasts for the game day, and even public opinion expressed through polls and media coverage could also play a role.
