These markets focus on predicting the point differential in the final quarter of a college football game between Coastal Carolina and West Virginia. Outcomes depend solely on which team scores more points in that specific period, with varying thresholds for victory margins.
All markets resolve based exclusively on points scored during the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the Coastal Carolina vs West Virginia college football game scheduled for September 5, 2026. Each market has a specific point differential threshold that determines a 'Yes' outcome: if West Virginia wins the 4th quarter by more than 2.5, 3.5, 4.5, 6.5, 7.5, or 10.5 points, or if Coastal Carolina wins the 4th quarter by more than 2.5, 3.5, 6.5, 7.5, or 10.5 points, the respective market resolves to 'Yes.' If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, markets remain open and resolve based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, markets resolve to a fair price. All markets are independent and evaluated solely on 4th-quarter performance, with no consideration of the overall game outcome or points scored in other quarters.
Generally, prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbook odds are typically set by a small group of experts, while this market aggregates the views of many individual traders. It’s common to see discrepancies between the two, especially before significant events or when public sentiment strongly favors one outcome. Comparing this market to sportsbook lines can be a useful exercise in understanding where differing opinions lie and potentially identifying value, but remember that each represents a unique form of forecasting.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different point spreads. The price of each contract fluctuates based on supply and demand, reflecting the collective belief of traders about the likely outcome. When more people buy contracts predicting a specific spread, the price of those contracts increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s depth and volume indicate the level of confidence and agreement among traders regarding the potential spread in the fourth quarter of the Coastal Carolina vs West Virginia game.
This market resolves around Sep 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final point spread in the fourth quarter of the Coastal Carolina vs West Virginia game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result reported by the governing body of college football. Traders holding contracts corresponding to the correct spread will receive a payout of $100 per contract, while those holding contracts on incorrect spreads will forfeit their investment. The final score and spread will be the determining factor for settlement.
Several factors could influence the price movement of this market before Sep 5, 2026. Any significant news regarding injuries to key players on either the Coastal Carolina or West Virginia teams would likely have a substantial impact. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest conditions favoring one team's style of play, could also shift the market. Furthermore, late-breaking news about team strategies or coaching decisions, or even public sentiment shifts based on pre-game analysis, could all contribute to fluctuations in the price of contracts in this market.
