Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin, while this market allows traders to directly assess probabilities. If a significant number of people believe an outcome is more likely than implied by sportsbook odds, the price of that outcome in this market will decrease, indicating higher probability. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply varying levels of expertise among participants. It's common to see prediction markets outperform traditional forecasts, especially when dealing with complex events.
