Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert opinions, while this market allows anyone to trade and express their beliefs. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook’s odds are inaccurate, they can take positions that drive the prediction market’s probabilities in a different direction. This dynamic interaction can lead to prediction markets being more accurate than sportsbook odds, especially as the event approaches and more information becomes available.
