PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi market structure contains a logical contradiction (all three mutually exclusive outcomes resolve to Yes), and the two platforms specify different game dates (July 7 vs July 8, 2026). This creates both a data integrity failure and an unresolvable market condition on Kalshi.Hero tip: Do not trade these markets until the date discrepancy is resolved and Kalshi's market logic is clarified. Contact both platforms to confirm the official game date and obtain corrected market terms. The logical impossibility in Kalshi's structure suggests a documentation or platform error that must be fixed before settlement.

Critical divergence points:

  • Kalshi: Three separate Yes/No markets all resolving to Yes regardless of outcome (Cleveland wins first 5 innings = Yes; Minnesota wins first 5 innings = Yes; Tie in first 5 innings = Yes). Game date listed as July 7, 2026 at 7:40 PM EDT. This structure is logically impossible—exactly one outcome must occur, but all three are marked to resolve Yes.
  • Polymarket: Three mutually exclusive outcome markets: Cleveland Guardians (if winning after 5 innings), Minnesota Twins (if winning after 5 innings), Draw (if tied after 5 innings). Game date listed as July 8, 2026 at 7:40 PM ET. Includes explicit handling for postponement (market remains open) and cancellation (50-50 split). Resolution source is official MLB statistics or credible reporting consensus within 24 hours.
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Kalshi

Resolution is based on the score at the end of the fifth inning of the Cleveland vs Minnesota professional baseball game originally scheduled for July 7, 2026 at 7:40 PM EDT. If Cleveland has more runs, the Cleveland outcome resolves to Yes. If Minnesota has more runs, the Minnesota outcome resolves to Yes. If both teams have equal runs, the Tie outcome resolves to Yes and all team outcomes resolve to No. If the game is postponed or delayed, the market remains open and closes after the rescheduled game concludes within two days.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets and sportsbooks price events differently because they operate under distinct incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and extract a margin, while prediction markets rely on trader supply and demand to discover prices. In this market, traders are directly wagering on the outcome rather than betting against a house, which can lead to sharper, more efficient pricing over time. Prediction market odds often reflect longer-term consensus and can diverge from sportsbook lines, especially as new data or injury reports surface. Comparing both sources helps traders identify value and understand how different market participants assess the first five innings.

Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform operates with its own liquidity pools, user base, and trading mechanics, which naturally creates price variation. Kalshi and Polymarket may attract different trader demographics and risk tolerances, leading to divergent probability estimates for the same outcome. Order flow timing, platform fees, and withdrawal policies also influence how quickly prices adjust to new information. Additionally, one platform may see larger position accumulation or liquidations that temporarily push odds away from the other's level. These gaps represent arbitrage opportunities and typically narrow as traders exploit them, but they can persist due to friction costs and platform-specific constraints.

Injury announcements, lineup changes, and bullpen availability can significantly shift odds before game time. Weather conditions, ballpark factors, and recent team performance streaks also influence trader positioning. Starting pitcher form, head-to-head matchup history, and travel fatigue may prompt repricing as the game approaches. Breaking news about roster moves or manager decisions can trigger sharp moves in either direction. Late-breaking betting action from sharp bettors often signals new information, causing other traders to adjust their positions. Monitor team news feeds and sportsbook line movements for clues about where informed money is flowing.
