Polymarket offers three binary markets: which team is winning after 5 innings, or if the game is tied. PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Polymarket and Kalshi measure fundamentally different outcomes: team leadership vs. aggregate run volume. A single game result will satisfy one market family but not necessarily the other, creating independent resolution paths.Hero tip: Treat these as two separate prediction markets. Polymarket resolves based on which team has more runs after 5 innings (or a tie). Kalshi resolves based on whether the combined run total crosses specific thresholds. A 2-1 Guardians lead satisfies Polymarket (Guardians ahead) and Kalshi (3 total runs, so Yes on 0.5, 1.5, 2.5 thresholds but No on 3.5+). Always cross-check the official box score for both team score and combined total.

Critical divergence points:

  • Polymarket: Three binary markets: (1) Cleveland Guardians winning after 5 innings, (2) Milwaukee Brewers winning after 5 innings, (3) Tied after 5 innings. Resolution is based on which team has the higher score (or equal score) at the end of the 5th inning. Key Quote: 'This market will resolve to Cleveland Guardians if the Cleveland Guardians is winning the game at the conclusion of the 5th inning.'
  • Kalshi: Seven markets, each a Yes/No on whether combined runs exceed a threshold (0.5, 1.5, 2.5, 3.5, 4.5, 5.5, 6.5). All resolve independently based on total runs scored by both teams. Key Quote: 'If Cleveland and Milwaukee collectively score more than X runs in the first 5 innings of the Cleveland vs Milwaukee professional baseball game originally scheduled for Jun 17, 2026 at 7:40 PM EDT, then the market resolves to Yes.'
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Kalshi

Frequently asked questions

The First 5 Innings Winner market dashboard aggregates trader positions across Polymarket and Kalshi, tracking real-time consensus on which team will lead after the first five innings of the Cleveland Guardians versus Milwaukee Brewers matchup. This market reflects collective prediction activity, showing how traders assess early-game momentum and pitching performance. The dashboard displays current odds, trading volume, and historical price movement, allowing you to compare sentiment across platforms and identify where the strongest conviction lies on this specific outcome.

Prediction market odds on this matchup are set by traders buying and selling shares, creating a crowdsourced probability that often diverges from traditional sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks employ oddsmakers and adjust lines to balance action, while prediction markets reflect pure supply and demand. Many traders use sportsbook odds as a reference point but find prediction markets more efficient at pricing early-inning outcomes, since they capture real-time information flow without the friction of traditional betting limits or margin requirements.

Polymarket and Kalshi may price this outcome differently due to variations in user base, liquidity depth, and order-flow timing. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts traders with distinct risk tolerances and information sets, so the same event can trade at different implied probabilities. Additionally, platform-specific rules around order types, settlement windows, and fee structures influence how quickly prices converge. Monitoring both venues helps you spot arbitrage opportunities and understand which platform's traders hold stronger conviction on the first-five-innings result.

Key catalysts include starting pitcher announcements, recent team performance trends, and weather conditions at game time, all of which influence early-inning scoring patterns. Injury updates to key batters or relievers can shift expectations for offensive output in the first five innings. Pre-game betting action and sharp-money movement on sportsbooks often precede prediction market repricing. Real-time game developments—such as early runs, errors, or pitching changes—will drive rapid price swings as traders update their models based on live performance.
