This set of markets tracks how many touchdowns each team scores through receptions in an upcoming college football matchup. The outcomes depend solely on whether specified players achieve particular thresholds of receiving touchdowns during the game.
All markets resolve based on the total number of receiving touchdowns scored by each team in the Clemson vs LSU college football game scheduled for September 5, 2026, counting any touchdowns scored in overtime. A receiving touchdown is defined as one where the player who catches the pass scores the touchdown themselves; if another player recovers a fumble and scores, it does not count as a receiving touchdown, unless the original receiving player recovers their own fumble and scores. Successful two-point conversions, regardless of when they occur, do not count toward any market totals. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of its original time, all markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi disclaims any affiliation with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds based on their own analysis and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. As more information becomes available – such as injury reports or weather forecasts – and as the event draws nearer, this market tends to converge with sportsbook odds, though discrepancies can still occur due to differing market participants and risk tolerances. It’s a useful comparison point for understanding public perception versus professional analysis.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts. The price of a contract represents the probability of the event occurring. For example, a price of 60 means a contract costs 60 USD, and the market is implicitly predicting a 60% chance of the outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders constantly adjust their bids and asks based on new information and their own assessments, leading to dynamic price movements. The market’s price reflects the collective expectation of all participants.
This market resolves around Sep 6, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will be based on official game statistics determining whether each team scored at least one touchdown during the Clemson vs LSU game. The final score and official play-by-play data will serve as the basis for determining the winning contracts in this market. It’s important to note that the resolution process relies on publicly available, verified information.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding key player injuries on either Clemson or LSU would likely cause price fluctuations. Unexpected changes in weather conditions, such as heavy rain or strong winds, could also influence scoring expectations and move the market. Furthermore, significant shifts in public opinion, perhaps driven by expert analysis or media coverage, could affect trading activity. Finally, late-breaking news about team strategies or coaching decisions could also contribute to price movements in this market.
