This market tracks the outcome of the second set in the professional tennis match between Claire Liu and Hanne Vandewinkel at the 2026 Wimbledon Women's Singles Round of 128 on June 29. The winner of set 2 will be determined by standard tennis scoring rules.
The market resolves based on which player wins set 2 in the Claire Liu vs Hanne Vandewinkel match at 2026 Wimbledon Women's Singles Round of 128. If the match does not occur before play begins due to injury, walkover, forfeiture, or cancellation, the market resolves to fair price. If postponed or delayed, the market remains open and closes after the rescheduled match concludes within two weeks. If a player retires, markets that can be unconditionally settled based on completed play resolve accordingly; those that cannot are resolved to fair market price at the Exchange's discretion.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different pricing mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and manage risk, while prediction markets like Kalshi price outcomes based on continuous trader activity and real-time information flow. Prediction markets can sometimes offer sharper pricing because traders have direct financial incentive to identify mispriced outcomes. However, sportsbooks may incorporate additional factors like injury reports or late-breaking news faster. Comparing this market's odds to major sportsbooks can reveal whether traders and bookmakers agree on the likely Set 2 winner.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders submit bids and asks for shares representing each outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the marginal trade—the last matched order—and moves as new buy and sell orders arrive. Traders who believe Liu will win the set can buy YES shares, while those favoring Vandewinkel can buy NO shares. The spread between bid and ask widens or narrows based on order flow and liquidity, giving participants real-time signals about conviction and uncertainty around the Set 2 winner.
This market resolves around Jun 29, 2026, once the second set of the Liu vs Vandewinkel match concludes and the winner is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by official match records and widely reported sports data. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome receive their payout, while those on the losing side forfeit their stake. Until that point, this market remains open for trading as new information and match developments influence participant expectations.
Several factors can shift odds in this market before resolution. Pre-match developments like recent form, head-to-head records, court surface preference, and player fitness updates often trigger repricing. During the first set, momentum and performance patterns may influence trader expectations for the second set outcome. Unexpected tactical adjustments, injury concerns, or weather delays can also prompt rapid position changes. Real-time match commentary and live scoring feed trader sentiment, causing the price to swing as the match unfolds. Major upsets or dominant play in Set 1 typically generate the largest moves in this market.
