This market tracks the outcome of the first set in the professional tennis match between Claire Liu and Hanne Vandewinkel at the 2026 Wimbledon Women's Singles Round of 128 on June 29. The winner of set 1 will be determined by standard tennis scoring rules.
The market resolves based on which player wins set 1 in the Claire Liu vs Hanne Vandewinkel match at 2026 Wimbledon Women's Singles Round of 128. If the match does not occur before play begins due to injury, walkover, forfeiture, or cancellation, the market resolves to fair price. If postponed or delayed, the market remains open and closes after the rescheduled match concludes within two weeks. If a player retires, markets that can be unconditionally settled based on completed play resolve accordingly; those that cannot are resolved to fair market price at the Exchange's discretion.
Prediction markets and sportsbooks price events differently because they operate under distinct incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets aggregate trader beliefs directly through supply and demand. This market reflects what thousands of informed participants collectively believe will happen, often incorporating real-time information faster than traditional sportsbooks update their lines. Both sources can be valuable, but they serve different purposes in assessing match outcomes.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders submit bids and asks for shares representing each possible outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the consensus probability among active traders at any given moment. As new information emerges or trading volume shifts, prices adjust in real time. You can enter limit or market orders to trade at your preferred price level, and the platform matches buyers and sellers automatically.
This market resolves around Jun 29, 2026, once the first set of the Liu versus Vandewinkel match concludes and the winner is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which player wins the set according to official match records. Until that point, prices will fluctuate based on pre-match analysis, player form, injury reports, and live match developments. Resolution is final once the event is confirmed.
Several factors may shift prices in this market before resolution. Injury announcements or withdrawal news involving either player would trigger sharp moves. Recent tournament results, head-to-head records, and surface-specific performance data often influence trader positioning. Court conditions, weather forecasts, and betting-exchange activity can also sway sentiment. Live match developments—such as early breaks, momentum swings, or tactical adjustments—will drive the most dramatic repricing as the set unfolds and new information becomes available.
