Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Price discrepancies between Polymarket and Kalshi often arise due to variations in trader demographics, market-making activity, and differing fee structures. Polymarket may attract a different class of trader than Kalshi, leading to distinct interpretations of the same information regarding the Reds-Blue Jays game. Furthermore, the liquidity available on each platform can influence price discovery, and differing levels of participation can create temporary imbalances. These factors contribute to the observed price differences, even though both platforms are tracking the same underlying event.
