PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Predict and Polymarket measure different settlement events: Predict resolves on full-game winner, while Polymarket resolves on the leader after exactly 5 innings. This is a scope divergence, not a contradiction, but traders must recognize they are distinct markets.Hero tip: Do not cross-hedge these markets. Predict is a traditional moneyline bet on the final outcome. Polymarket is a first-5-innings prop. A team can win the first 5 innings but lose the game, or vice versa. Treat each independently based on your view of early-game vs. full-game performance.

Critical divergence points:

  • Predict: Resolves on full-game winner. Cincinnati Reds or Milwaukee Brewers wins the complete game. If postponed, remains open until completion. If canceled with no makeup or ends in a tie, resolves 50-50. Source: Official MLB final statistics within 24 hours or credible consensus.
  • Polymarket: Resolves on the leader after exactly 5 innings. Three outcomes: Cincinnati Reds winning, Milwaukee Brewers winning, or Draw (tied after 5). If postponed, remains open until 5th inning is completed. If canceled with no makeup, resolves 50-50. Source: Official MLB statistics within 24 hours or credible consensus.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets like those tracked here operate on peer-to-peer pricing rather than traditional sportsbook margins. Traders directly set odds by buying and selling shares, which means this market reflects aggregate belief without a house edge built in. Sportsbooks, by contrast, quote fixed odds and profit from the spread between buy and sell prices. Prediction market odds often respond faster to breaking news and sharp trader activity, while sportsbooks may lag slightly. For early-inning baseball outcomes, prediction markets can offer tighter pricing and higher liquidity during peak trading hours, making them attractive for bettors seeking real-time consensus.

Polymarket and Predict serve different trader bases and operate under distinct rule sets, which naturally creates price divergence. Polymarket and Predict can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Liquidity concentration varies between platforms—one may attract more sharp early-inning specialists, while the other draws casual sports bettors. Settlement timing, fee structures, and user interface design also influence how quickly traders react to the same information. Additionally, each platform's order-book depth and trading volume affect how easily large positions move the odds. These structural differences mean identical outcomes can trade at slightly different probabilities, creating arbitrage opportunities for traders monitoring both venues simultaneously.

Starting lineups and bullpen availability are critical catalysts—injury news or unexpected roster changes can shift early-inning win probability significantly. Weather conditions at the ballpark, including wind direction and temperature, influence home-run likelihood and scoring pace. Recent form, head-to-head matchups, and pitcher performance trends attract sharp traders seeking edges. Breaking injury reports on star players, umpire assignments, and even betting-market activity on full-game outcomes can cascade into five-inning pricing adjustments. As game time approaches, volume typically spikes, and odds stabilize. Once play begins, each run scored or baserunner reached will trigger real-time repricing across both platforms.
