This event group covers two separate NPB baseball games involving the Yomiuri Giants: one against the Chunichi Dragons scheduled for August 14, 2026, and another against the Tokyo Yakult Swallows scheduled for August 8, 2026. The markets differ in their resolution criteria and outcomes based on game results and conditions.
In the upcoming NPB game, scheduled for August 14 at 5:00AM ET: If the Chunichi Dragons win, the market will resolve to "Chunichi Dragons". If the Yomiuri Giants win, the market will resolve to "Yomiuri Giants". If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, or ends in a tie, this market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source will be official information from the NPB. A consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
Both markets focus on the outcome of a single baseball game between the Tokyo Yakult Swallows and the Yomiuri Giants, scheduled for August 8, 2026, at 2:00 AM EDT. If the game is played and either team wins, the corresponding market resolves to Yes. Should the game end in a tie, both markets resolve at 50/50. If the game is postponed or delayed but rescheduled within two days, the markets remain open until the new game concludes. If the game is canceled or rescheduled beyond two days, the markets resolve to a fair price. On Polymarket and Kalshi, pricing can vary due to differences in user base, liquidity, and market design. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. For instance, one platform might have more active traders focused on Japanese baseball, skewing its odds. The distinct participant pools and trading volumes often explain the gap between the two venues.
