Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven by traders seeking to profit on their forecasts. Sportsbooks may adjust lines faster in response to sharp money, whereas this market aggregates the collective belief of its participants over time. Comparing the two can reveal where public perception differs from professional oddsmakers, though both are valuable signals for understanding the likely outcome.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where buyers and sellers submit bids and offers on the outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price you see reflects the most recent trade and the spread between the highest bid and lowest ask, with each contract representing a claim on the result. As new information emerges or trader conviction shifts, the price adjusts dynamically. Liquidity and trading volume influence how easily you can enter or exit a position at your desired price.
This market resolves around Jun 18, 2026, once the first five innings of the game are complete and the result is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which team has scored more runs through the end of the fifth inning. No further action is required from you after the game concludes; the platform will confirm the result and settle all positions automatically based on the final score at that point in the game.
Several factors can shift trader positioning before this market closes. Injury reports or late roster changes to either team can alter perceived strength in the early innings. Weather conditions at game time, such as wind or temperature, may favor one team's style of play. Starting pitcher performance history, bullpen availability, and recent offensive trends all influence early-inning scoring expectations. Breaking news about player availability or unexpected lineup adjustments can trigger sharp moves. As game time approaches, final betting action and professional sharp money often create noticeable price swings.
