If a player is scratched or not in the starting lineup, the market resolves to the fair market price. If the player starts but records no plate appearances, the market also resolves to the fair market price. If the player enters the game as a substitute but does not start, the market resolves to the fair market price, and pinch-hit at-bats are excluded from consideration. Only if the player is in the starting lineup and records at least one plate appearance will the market settle based on the home runs actually hit.
