Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market incorporates a broader range of information and perspectives from many traders. As more information becomes available – such as starting pitchers, weather forecasts, or injury reports – both prediction market and sportsbook odds will adjust. It’s common to see prediction markets outperform traditional sportsbooks, especially closer to the event, as they can more efficiently incorporate new data.

On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes. The price of each contract reflects the collective belief of the traders regarding the probability of that outcome occurring. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who believe an outcome is likely, the higher the price of its corresponding contract will rise. Conversely, if traders believe an outcome is unlikely, the price will fall. This dynamic pricing mechanism ensures that the market odds constantly adapt to new information and changing sentiment.

This market resolves around Sep 16, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the result of the White Sox-Guardians game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score, as reported by official sources, will determine the winning outcome in this market. The resolution process is automated and relies on publicly available data to ensure a fair and transparent outcome. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on the final result.

Several factors could significantly influence this market. Any news regarding key player injuries, changes in the starting pitchers for either team, or even weather forecasts could shift the probabilities. Unexpected lineup changes or reports about team morale could also impact trading activity. Major news events affecting the teams or the league overall could also cause movement. As the game approaches, even small pieces of information can have a noticeable effect on the market, as traders react to the latest developments.
