In the upcoming Leagues Cup game between Chicago Fire FC and Club Santos Laguna, scheduled for August 9, 2026 at 8:00 PM ET: This market will resolve based on the final score of the Chicago Fire FC vs. Club Santos Laguna match originally scheduled for August 9, 2026 at 8:00 PM ET, considering only the result at the end of 90 minutes of regulation plus stoppage time; extra time and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. If the actual score is not one of the explicitly listed outcomes, the market resolves to "Any Other Score." If the match is postponed, the market will remain open until it is completed; if it is canceled with no make-up game, the market resolves to "0-0." The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome.
All markets resolve based on the total number of goals scored during the standard 90 minutes plus any stoppage time added by the referee, excluding any goals scored during extra time or penalty shootouts. A 'Yes' outcome occurs if the cumulative goals exceed the specified threshold for each respective market (0.5, 1.5, 2.5, 3.5, 4.5, or 5.5 goals). The match in question is the professional Leagues Cup game originally scheduled for August 9, 2026. It is important to note that Kalshi, the platform hosting these markets, has no official affiliation with the governing league, and all trademarks and brand names referenced belong to their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often reflect sharper, crowd-sourced insights because traders can bet on granular outcomes like exact scores, whereas sportsbooks typically offer broader lines such as match winners or over/under totals. This can create price gaps, especially on niche markets where bookmakers assign higher implied probabilities to cover risk. For this market, prediction markets may show tighter spreads or different favorites compared to traditional sportsbooks.
Injuries to key players, weather conditions, or tactical changes announced by coaches can all shift this market. High-profile betting activity on either platform may also create momentum swings, especially as the match date nears. Any unexpected developments — such as lineup changes or referee announcements — are likely to produce noticeable price adjustments on both Polymarket and Kalshi.
