Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant pools and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and manage risk, while prediction markets are driven by traders seeking profit through accurate forecasting. Comparing the two can highlight where consensus differs and help you identify potential value.

On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each outcome. The price of each share reflects the implied probability that outcome will occur, with prices ranging from near-zero to near-100 cents. As new information emerges or sentiment shifts, traders adjust their bids and asks, moving the price in real time. The outcome will be determined by the final score and official result of the matchup. Until that point, traders can continue to buy and sell shares as new developments, injury reports, or other game-relevant information surfaces. Resolution is automatic once the event is complete and the winner is confirmed.

Key catalysts include injury announcements affecting either team's roster, recent performance trends, weather conditions on game day, and lineup changes. Bullpen availability, home-field advantage factors, and head-to-head historical matchups can all shift trader sentiment. Breaking news about player health or unexpected roster moves often triggers sharp price movements as the market reprices. Monitor sports news outlets and team announcements closely, as even minor updates can influence how traders evaluate the probability of each outcome in this market.
