This market tracks the score after the first 5 innings of the Chicago Cubs vs New York Mets baseball game scheduled for June 22, 2026. Bettors can wager on whether Chicago will be ahead, New York will be ahead, or the teams will be tied after the completion of the fifth inning.
The market resolves based on the score at the end of the first 5 innings of the Chicago C vs New York M professional baseball game originally scheduled for June 22, 2026 at 7:10 PM EDT. If Chicago C has more runs than New York M after 5 innings, the Chicago C outcome resolves to Yes. If New York M has more runs than Chicago C after 5 innings, the New York M outcome resolves to Yes. If both teams have scored an equal number of runs after 5 innings, the Tie outcome resolves to Yes and all team outcomes resolve to No. If the game is postponed or delayed, the market remains open and closes after the rescheduled game concludes, within two days of the original scheduled date.
Prediction market odds on this market reflect real-time trader consensus and often diverge from traditional sportsbook lines because they aggregate continuous live information and trader conviction rather than being set by oddsmakers. Sportsbooks adjust lines to balance action and manage risk, while prediction markets price outcomes based on what participants actually believe will happen. Comparing the two can reveal where public perception differs from professional betting markets, though both respond to injury reports, weather, and lineup changes before game time.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each possible outcome, with the current bid-ask spread reflecting the live consensus price. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome ranges from 0 to 100 cents, where higher prices indicate stronger trader belief in that result. As new information emerges—lineup announcements, weather updates, or early inning developments—traders adjust their positions, moving prices in real time to reflect changing probabilities.
This market resolves around Jun 23, 2026, once the game's first five innings are complete and the result is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which team has scored more runs through the end of the fifth inning, regardless of the final game score. Early resolution may occur if the game is called or suspended before five innings are played, in which case the outcome reflects the official recorded result at that point.
Key catalysts include starting pitcher announcements, last-minute lineup changes, weather conditions at game time, and any injury updates to star players. Early inning performance itself—runs scored, defensive plays, and pitcher effectiveness—will shift prices as traders update their expectations based on live action. Pregame betting activity at sportsbooks and social media sentiment can also influence trader positioning before first pitch, while in-game developments like early scoring or pitching changes will drive volatility throughout the first five innings.
