Generally, prediction market odds tend to reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often proving more accurate than traditional sportsbook odds, especially as an event approaches. Sportsbooks may incorporate biases or seek to profit from public perception, while this market aggregates the views of informed traders. However, discrepancies can occur due to differing levels of liquidity and the specific information factored into each type of betting. It's important to compare both to form a well-rounded assessment of the potential outcome.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a particular outcome. The price of these shares directly reflects the implied probability, and fluctuates based on supply and demand. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders believe a certain outcome will occur, the higher the share price will rise, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the collective intelligence of its participants.
This market resolves around Sep 29, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
