Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of participants, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set their lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. It's common to see discrepancies between the two, especially when there's strong public sentiment or information asymmetry. Examining these differences can be valuable for informed decision-making, though it’s important to remember that neither source guarantees accuracy.

On Limitless, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders can buy and sell contracts representing their belief about whether Chelsea and Hull City will receive 4 or more total cards. The price of these contracts fluctuates based on supply and demand, reflecting the collective probability assigned to the event. On Limitless, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders are incentivized to provide accurate predictions, as profitable trades are rewarded. The current price represents the market's best estimate of the outcome's likelihood, and the volume indicates the level of interest and conviction among participants.

This market resolves around Sep 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final card count from the Chelsea versus Hull City match will be used to determine if four or more cards were issued in total. The official match report will serve as the basis for verifying the result. Traders holding contracts predicting 'yes' will be paid out if the condition is met, while those holding 'no' contracts will forfeit their stake. The resolution process is designed to be transparent and based on objective data.

Several factors could influence the price of this market. News regarding player suspensions or injuries to key players known for receiving cards could significantly shift expectations. Changes in referee assignments, particularly if a referee is known for issuing a high or low number of cards, could also impact trading activity. Even pre-match analysis focusing on the anticipated physicality of the game or tactical approaches that might lead to more fouls could move the market. Any significant information relating to the expected intensity of the match is likely to be reflected in the price.
