This set of markets tracks how many points are scored exclusively in the final quarter of a college football matchup, helping participants gauge the game's closing intensity and scoring pace.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams combined during the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the Charlotte vs Ole Miss college football game scheduled for September 12, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold: if the combined score exceeds that threshold, the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. For all markets, only points scored in the 4th quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, trading remains open and resolves based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi disclaims any affiliation with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often offer a different perspective than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market reflects the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to make accurate predictions. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts. If a significant difference exists between the implied probability in this market and sportsbook odds, it could indicate an opportunity for informed traders to exploit a mispricing.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts. The price of a contract represents the probability of the total points scored in the 4th quarter falling below that value. As more traders buy contracts predicting a lower total, the price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market depth and trading activity influence how quickly the price adjusts to new information and changing expectations about the game's outcome.
This market resolves around Sep 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the 4th quarter is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official game statistics, and the market will pay out to those who correctly predicted whether the total points scored in the fourth quarter were above or below the contract price they purchased. The final score will be the determining factor for settlement.
Several factors could significantly impact this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Charlotte or Ole Miss would likely cause movement, as this affects scoring potential. Live game events, such as a dominant performance by one team in the first three quarters, could also shift expectations. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they impact the passing or running game, are another potential catalyst. Finally, any significant public betting activity or analysis could influence trading behavior and move the price.
