Prediction market odds often reflect a different risk profile than traditional sportsbook lines. On platforms like Polymarket and Kalshi, prices are set by traders and can adjust rapidly based on new information, news, or betting patterns. Sportsbook odds, by contrast, are typically fixed and influenced by broader public betting trends, sharp money, and house adjustments. This market may show sharper or more volatile pricing, especially when trader sentiment diverges from the public betting consensus or when key game developments emerge.
