Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook offerings. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and to balance action, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant number of informed bettors believe a sportsbook’s odds are inaccurate, they can influence the price on Polymarket, potentially creating a divergence. It’s common to see prediction markets react more quickly to new information than traditional sportsbooks, especially during live events.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular result, the price increases, reflecting a higher perceived likelihood. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price movements are driven by supply and demand, and traders aim to profit by accurately predicting the event’s outcome.

This market resolves around Sep 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result will be based on which team scores more goals in the second half of the Chacarita Juniors versus Quilmes AC match. The final score will be sourced from official match data and verified to determine the winning outcome for this market. Traders holding shares in the correct outcome will be entitled to a payout.

Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding team injuries, suspensions, or changes in starting lineups for either Chacarita Juniors or Quilmes AC could significantly shift trader sentiment. Live game events, such as early goals, red cards, or tactical adjustments, will likely cause rapid price fluctuations. Even broader factors like weather conditions or referee assignments could play a role in how traders assess the probability of different outcomes in the second half.
