Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and manage risk, while prediction markets price outcomes based on trader consensus. This market's odds represent what thousands of independent traders believe will happen, which can sometimes differ meaningfully from sportsbook spreads. Comparing the two can reveal where market participants see value relative to conventional betting venues.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that converts trader orders into real-time probabilities. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each outcome has its own contract, and the price of each reflects the cumulative bets placed on it. As traders buy or sell shares, the price adjusts dynamically to balance supply and demand. This continuous repricing mechanism ensures the odds stay current throughout the second half, capturing new information as it emerges.
This market resolves around Aug 2, 2026, once the second half of the match concludes and the final result is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which team scores more goals during the second half period only. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome receive their payout automatically. Early resolution is possible if the match ends before the scheduled time due to unforeseen circumstances.
Key catalysts include team lineups, injury announcements, and tactical adjustments made at halftime. Goals scored during the second half will trigger sharp repricing as the outcome becomes more certain. Red cards or significant momentum shifts can also shift trader sentiment rapidly. Weather conditions, crowd energy, and substitution patterns may influence how traders assess each team's chances. Real-time match statistics and commentary often drive noticeable price swings as the half progresses toward its conclusion.
