Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets aggregate the collective beliefs of traders who have real money at stake. For this market, comparing the implied probabilities on Polymarket to published sportsbook lines can reveal where professional oddsmakers and decentralized traders disagree on the likelihood of each second-half outcome. Such gaps sometimes signal value or highlight where one venue perceives edge.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that adjusts odds based on the volume and direction of trades. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders purchase shares representing each possible outcome, and the cost of those shares rises or falls as the pool of capital shifts. The current price of each outcome reflects the aggregate confidence of all participants; as new information emerges or sentiment changes, the market reprices in real time. This continuous adjustment mechanism ensures prices stay responsive to evolving match conditions and trader conviction.
This market resolves around Aug 2, 2026, once the second half of the match concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the final score or result recorded in the official match record—whether that is a draw, a home victory, or an away victory. Resolution happens automatically once the event is confirmed, and all winning shares are paid out according to the outcome that occurred during the second-half period.
Several factors can shift prices in this market before it resolves. Early match momentum, team injuries, tactical adjustments at halftime, and in-game red cards or penalties all influence trader expectations for the second half. Weather conditions, crowd energy, and substitution patterns may also sway sentiment. Additionally, news about player availability or last-minute lineup changes can trigger sharp repricing. As the first half unfolds, traders will update their forecasts based on how each team is performing, creating natural volatility in the odds throughout the event window.
