This set of markets tracks how many points each team will score in an upcoming college football game. Each market has a different threshold for the number of points a team must score for the market to settle as 'Yes'.
All markets resolve based on the official final point total scored by each team in the Central Michigan vs Miami (FL) college football game scheduled for September 26, 2026. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of its original start time, all markets remain open and resolve according to the final result. If the game fails to start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price, determined independently for each threshold. Each individual market resolves to 'Yes' only if the specified team's total points exceed the designated threshold; otherwise, it resolves to 'No'. The markets cover a range of scoring thresholds for both teams, allowing participants to bet on various levels of offensive performance.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own analysis and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market represents the aggregated beliefs of individuals trading contracts. If a significant number of traders believe a team will exceed its total, the price of contracts predicting that outcome will rise, potentially moving further from the initial sportsbook line. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts. Each contract represents a specific outcome – in this case, whether a team’s total points will be over or under a certain number. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy into a particular outcome, the price increases, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing mechanism ensures the market reflects the latest available information and collective intelligence.
This market resolves around Sep 27, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final team totals for Central Michigan and Miami (FL) will be sourced from official game statistics. The market will settle based on whether the actual team totals exceed or fall short of the relevant thresholds defined by the contracts traded on Kalshi. All contracts will be settled accordingly based on the official results.
Several factors could influence this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Central Michigan or Miami (FL) would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest conditions favorable to high or low scoring, could also impact trading activity. Additionally, late-breaking news about coaching strategies or team morale, as well as large volume trades on Kalshi, could all contribute to shifts in the market price as traders adjust their predictions.
