Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different pricing mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are priced by traders competing to profit on their forecasts. Prediction markets typically incorporate real-time information and can adjust faster than traditional sportsbooks, sometimes offering sharper or more efficient pricing. However, sportsbook odds may include deeper liquidity pools and professional market-making. Comparing the two can reveal arbitrage opportunities or validate whether this market's consensus aligns with professional sports betting sentiment.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each possible outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the cumulative bets placed on it; as more capital flows into one outcome, its price rises and its implied probability increases. Traders profit by buying low and selling high, or by correctly predicting which outcome will occur. The continuous pricing model means odds update in real time with every trade, creating a dynamic market that responds immediately to new information about the teams, injuries, or other match-relevant developments.

This market resolves around Jul 24, 2026, once the second half of the match concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome is determined by the actual result recorded during the second half of play—whether it favors La Calera, Everton, or ends in a draw. Resolution occurs after the match is complete and official sources confirm the final score. Traders holding positions on the correct outcome receive their payout, while incorrect positions expire worthless. The timing ensures sufficient confirmation before settlement.

Several catalysts could shift odds before the match kicks off and during the second half. Team news—such as injuries to key players, lineup changes, or tactical adjustments—often triggers sharp repricing. Pre-match momentum, recent form, and head-to-head history can influence early trading. Once play begins, first-half events like goals, red cards, or injuries will reshape expectations for the second half, causing rapid market swings. Weather conditions, referee assignments, and betting syndicates entering or exiting positions can also drive volatility. Real-time score updates and in-play developments are the primary drivers of price movement in this market.
