Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds based on statistical models and expert opinions, while this market incorporates a broader range of information and perspectives from traders. As more information becomes available – such as team news or weather conditions – the odds on Polymarket can adjust more rapidly than those offered by sportsbooks. This can lead to opportunities for informed traders to find value discrepancies between the two.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in whether Guadalajara or Querétaro will score first. The price of each share directly reflects the probability of that outcome, as determined by supply and demand. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the market price converges towards a collective prediction. The higher the demand for shares in a particular team, the higher the price, and the greater the implied probability of that team scoring first.
This market resolves around Sep 26, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which team scores the first goal in the CD Guadalajara versus Querétaro FC match. If no goal is scored by either team, the market will resolve as 'No Goal Scored'. The official match records will serve as the definitive source for determining the winning outcome, ensuring a transparent and verifiable resolution process for all traders.
Several factors could significantly influence this market. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Guadalajara or Querétaro would likely cause shifts in the odds. Changes in team form, such as recent wins or losses, or tactical adjustments announced by the managers could also impact trader sentiment. Unexpected weather conditions on match day, or even pre-match analysis from respected sports commentators, could also contribute to movement in this market. Ultimately, any information that alters perceptions of each team’s scoring ability has the potential to move the odds.
