This market settles based on whether Nashville or Carolina wins their upcoming NHL game. A tie results in a 50-cent resolution for both markets.
Markets resolve to Yes if the specified team (Nashville or Carolina) wins the NHL game scheduled for Sep 26, 2026. In the event of a tie, all markets resolve at 50c. If the game is postponed but begins within 48 hours of its original start time, markets remain open and resolve based on the official result. Cancellations or failures to start within 48 hours result in fair price resolutions.
Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of informed traders, which can differ from those initially set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks establish lines to balance their risk, while this market allows participants to express their own probabilities. Often, you’ll find that prediction markets are more accurate at forecasting event outcomes, especially as the event approaches and more information becomes available. However, sportsbook odds are readily accessible and can provide a useful point of comparison when evaluating this market. It's common to see discrepancies, especially early on, as the market adjusts to new data.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes. The price of each contract reflects the market's probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy a contract, its price increases, and the implied probability rises. Conversely, selling pressure lowers the price and reduces the probability. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market dynamically adjusts based on supply and demand, creating a real-time assessment of expectations for the Carolina versus Nashville event. Traders are incentivized to provide accurate forecasts, as profitable trades are rewarded.
This market resolves around Sep 26, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the NHL game between Carolina and Nashville. The platform will verify the result against publicly available data to determine which outcome corresponds to the actual event outcome. Traders holding contracts for the winning outcome will receive a payout, while those holding contracts for losing outcomes will not. The exact timing of the resolution may vary slightly depending on the availability of official results.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Carolina or Nashville would likely cause price fluctuations. Unexpected changes in goaltender matchups or coaching strategies could also shift expectations. Game-day reports about team morale or potential lineup changes can influence trading activity. Furthermore, broader NHL news, such as upsets in other playoff series, might indirectly affect sentiment. Major shifts in public opinion, as reflected in sports news and analysis, could also contribute to movement in this market before Sep 26, 2026.
