Often, prediction market odds reflect a different set of information and incentives than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission, while this market allows traders to directly assess the probabilities. This can lead to differences in implied probabilities, especially when there's strong public sentiment or inside information influencing trading activity. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on statistical models and expert analysis, this market’s pricing is driven by the collective wisdom of its traders, potentially offering a more accurate forecast as new information emerges before May 27, 2026.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous exchange where traders buy and sell shares representing different exact scores. The price of each share reflects the market's assessment of the probability of that score occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and the implied probability rises. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price movements are driven by supply and demand, influenced by news, analysis, and the overall sentiment of the trading community. This dynamic pricing mechanism ensures that the market reflects the most up-to-date expectations.
This market resolves around May 27, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the Caracas FC vs. Botafogo match will be used to determine the winning share(s). The resolution will be based on the official result as reported by a recognized sports data provider. Traders holding shares in the correct exact score will be entitled to a payout based on the market’s pricing at the time of resolution.
