PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi market contains a logical contradiction and scope ambiguity. The resolution criteria state 'If Miami Heretics wins... then resolves to Yes' and 'If OpTic Texas wins... then resolves to Yes,' which means both outcomes resolve to Yes. Additionally, the market conflates a single match outcome with championship victory, and does not define the No outcome or cancellation/delay handling.Hero tip: Polymarket's markets (Games 1-4, Match Winner, O/U 3.5, O/U 4.5) are well-defined and resolvable. Kalshi's market is fundamentally broken: it cannot resolve to No under any stated condition, making it unresolvable as written. Do not trade Kalshi until the platform corrects the resolution criteria. Use Polymarket as the authoritative source for this event group.

Critical divergence points:

  • Polymarket: Five distinct markets (Games 1-4 individual winners, Match Winner, O/U 3.5, O/U 4.5) with explicit binary outcomes. Each game resolves based on completed game result; match resolves to series winner. Forfeits/walkovers during series play resolve to 50-50 unless match is clinched. Cancellations or delays beyond 7 days without play resolve to 50-50. Source: Liquipedia with 2-hour credible-reporting fallback. Key quote: 'If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50.'
  • Kalshi: Single market with contradictory resolution logic. States 'If Miami Heretics wins... then resolves to Yes' AND 'If OpTic Texas wins... then resolves to Yes,' meaning both outcomes map to Yes. Does not define No outcome, does not clarify whether resolution occurs on match completion or championship completion, and does not address cancellations or delays. Key quote: 'If Miami Heretics wins the Call of Duty League Championship 2026: Miami Heretics vs. OpTic Texas Call of Duty match originally scheduled for Jul 16, 2026 at 7:30 PM EDT, then the market resolves to Yes. If OpTic Texas wins the Call of Duty League Championship 2026: Miami Heretics vs. OpTic Texas Call of Duty match originally scheduled for Jul 16, 2026 at 7:30 PM EDT, then the market resolves to Yes.'

Polymarket

This market refers to the Call of Duty Upper bracket quarterfinal 1 match between OpTic Texas and Miami Heretics in the Call of Duty League Championship Playoffs, initially scheduled for July 16 at 7:30PM ET. This market will resolve to "OpTic Texas" if OpTic Texas win the match against Miami Heretics. This market will resolve to "Miami Heretics" if Miami Heretics win the match against OpTic Texas. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://liquipedia.net/callofduty/Main_Page. However, if https://liquipedia.net/callofduty/Main_Page has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets like Polymarket and Kalshi operate on peer-to-peer trading rather than fixed lines set by oddsmakers. Sportsbooks adjust odds to balance liability; prediction markets adjust based on trader demand and supply. This market's odds reflect aggregated belief from thousands of individual traders, often incorporating real-time team news, player performance, and betting sentiment faster than traditional sportsbooks. However, sportsbook lines may offer tighter spreads and more liquidity, while prediction markets reward early information advantage and contrarian positioning.

Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader demographics, fee structures, and regulatory frameworks. Polymarket uses an automated market maker model, while Kalshi operates order-book matching, leading to different price discovery speeds. Liquidity concentration, minimum order sizes, and withdrawal policies also vary. Arbitrage opportunities can persist briefly across platforms due to these structural differences, but traders typically exploit them until prices converge. Monitoring both venues reveals where consensus is strongest and where outlier conviction exists.

Key catalysts include roster changes, player substitutions, or injury announcements affecting either team's starting lineup. Recent tournament results, scrim performance leaks, and coach statements can shift trader conviction. Meta shifts in weapon balance or map rotations may favor one team's playstyle. Betting action from professional esports syndicates or high-profile traders often triggers repricing. Media narratives around momentum, storylines, or playoff seeding also influence odds. Monitor team social media, esports news outlets, and CDL official channels for developments that could reshape expectations before the match begins.
