This market focuses on predicting which team will score the first touchdown in an upcoming college football game. It includes scenarios where either team scores first or if no team manages to score a touchdown at all during the game, including any overtime periods.
The event determines which team scores the first touchdown in the California vs Syracuse college football game scheduled for September 12, 2026, or if no team scores a touchdown. All touchdowns—including offensive, defensive, and special teams plays—are counted. If the first touchdown occurs in overtime, the respective market for that team resolves as Yes. Should neither team score a touchdown during the entire game, including overtime, the market titled 'No team scores a TD' resolves to Yes. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of its original scheduled start time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, the market resolves to a fair price. Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by individuals trading based on their own research and beliefs. As a result, you might find that the implied probability of a team scoring first in this market differs from the odds offered by sportsbooks, potentially offering value to informed bettors who identify discrepancies.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts. The price of a contract represents the probability of that outcome occurring, with higher prices indicating a greater perceived chance. Traders are constantly adjusting their bids and asks based on new information and their own analysis, which dynamically updates the market price. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market depth shows the volume of contracts available at different price points, giving you an idea of the liquidity and potential price impact of larger trades.
This market resolves around Sep 12, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which team scores the first touchdown in the California vs Syracuse game. The official game results will be used to determine the winning outcome. It’s important to note that the platform relies on publicly available information to determine the result, ensuring a transparent and verifiable resolution process for all participants in this market.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries for either California or Syracuse would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest conditions favorable to one team's offensive style, could also shift the market. Furthermore, any significant shifts in public perception, perhaps driven by expert analysis or pre-game polls, could influence trader behavior and move the price. Unexpected announcements about coaching strategies or team lineups could also contribute to price fluctuations in this market.
