Frequently asked questions

Often, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin, while Polymarket allows traders to directly assess probabilities. This can lead to discrepancies, with this market potentially reflecting the collective wisdom of informed bettors more accurately than fixed-odds offerings. It’s common to see prediction markets move faster to incorporate new information and adjust probabilities based on real-time sentiment, unlike sportsbook odds which are updated less frequently.
