Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, which represents their profit margin. This market, being driven by the collective wisdom of traders, tends to reflect more purely the perceived probability of an event occurring. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on statistical models and expert analysis, prediction markets can quickly adjust to new information and changing sentiment, potentially offering more accurate probabilities as the event approaches. It’s common to see differences emerge as new information becomes available.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in whether CA Progreso or CA Cerro will score first. As more shares are purchased for one outcome, its price increases, reflecting a higher perceived probability. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome. For example, a share priced at 60 means there's a 60% implied probability of that team scoring first. The market dynamically adjusts as traders react to news, analysis, and their own insights.

This market resolves around Sep 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which team scores the first goal in the CA Progreso vs. CA Cerro match. If no goal is scored by either team, the market will resolve as 'No Goal Scored'. The result will be determined by official match data and verified against credible public sources, ensuring an objective and transparent outcome for all participants in this market.

Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Any news regarding team lineups, injuries to key players, or changes in coaching strategies could significantly shift probabilities. Unexpected weather conditions or even pre-match analysis from respected sports commentators could also impact trader sentiment. Furthermore, significant betting activity in traditional sportsbooks might draw attention and influence trading behavior on Polymarket. As the match draws closer, any late-breaking news or developments will likely have the most substantial effect on the market.
