Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market allows traders to freely express their beliefs about the likelihood of each team scoring first. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook has mispriced the probability, you’ll see the odds on Polymarket diverge accordingly. It’s common to see prediction markets outperform traditional odds, especially as more information becomes available and the event draws nearer.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information emerges, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment. Higher volume generally indicates greater confidence and more informed trading activity within this market.

This market resolves around Sep 19, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, resolution will depend on which team, if any, scores the first goal during the first half of the Osasuna versus Rayo Vallecano match. If neither team scores in the first half, the market will resolve in favor of ‘No Goal Scored’. The official match records will serve as the basis for determining the winning outcome for this market.

Several factors could influence trading activity and shift the odds in this market. Late-breaking news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either Osasuna or Rayo Vallecano would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they favor one team’s playing style, could also move the market. Additionally, any pre-match analysis from respected football commentators or analysts that challenges existing expectations could prompt traders to reassess their positions and adjust their bids on Polymarket.
