Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets aggregate the beliefs of traders risking real capital on outcomes. This market aggregates trader conviction directly, which can reveal consensus that differs from traditional sportsbook pricing. Comparing the two can highlight where informed traders see value relative to bookmakers, though both should be viewed as independent price signals rather than definitive probabilities.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that adjusts odds continuously based on trader buy and sell activity. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the cumulative conviction of all participants; as more traders back one result, its odds shift upward and competing outcomes decline. This mechanism ensures prices remain responsive to new information and trader sentiment throughout the event window, creating a dynamic reflection of expected outcomes rather than static bookmaker lines.

This market resolves around Jul 31, 2026, once the second half result is confirmed and verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome is determined by the final score and result recorded in official match records following the conclusion of play. Resolution typically occurs shortly after the event concludes, pending confirmation of the official result. Traders should monitor the event closely as the resolution window approaches to ensure they understand the exact timing and any final updates from the platform.

Key catalysts include team news such as injuries, lineup changes, or tactical announcements that alter perceived second-half performance. Early first-half developments—goals, red cards, or momentum shifts—often trigger repricing as traders reassess likely outcomes. Weather conditions, crowd dynamics, and in-game events like substitutions can all influence second-half expectations. Additionally, sharp trader activity or large position changes may signal new information, causing the market to adjust. Monitor official team communications and live match commentary for signals that could shift odds before the second half begins.
