Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets are driven by trader belief and real-money conviction. This market aggregates the views of many independent forecasters without the intermediary markup, sometimes yielding sharper or earlier signals than traditional betting lines. Comparing the two can reveal where public perception and informed trader sentiment differ most.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that converts trader positions into real-time probabilities. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders buy and sell shares representing each possible outcome, and the cumulative order flow determines the odds. As more capital flows into one outcome, its price rises and its implied probability increases. This continuous pricing mechanism ensures transparent, friction-reduced discovery of the true forecast without relying on a central bookmaker.

This market resolves around Jul 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The second half result will be determined by the final score and match circumstances as they unfold on the pitch. Resolution occurs after the match concludes and official records are available, ensuring accuracy and fairness to all traders. Early resolution is possible if circumstances make the outcome mathematically certain before the final whistle.

Team news—injuries, suspensions, or lineup changes—can shift expectations for second half performance. Early match dynamics, including first half goals, red cards, or tactical adjustments, often trigger repricing as traders update their forecasts. Weather conditions, crowd momentum, and momentum swings during play all influence trader sentiment. Injury updates or unexpected substitutions announced before the second half begins may cause sharp moves. Real-time match events like goals, fouls, or momentum shifts drive continuous repricing as new information reaches the market.
