Prediction market odds on Polymarket often diverge from traditional sportsbook odds because they reflect real-time trader positioning rather than a fixed bookmaker margin. Sportsbooks typically adjust lines to balance action and lock in profit, while prediction markets allow continuous price discovery as new information emerges. For this match's second half outcome, comparing the prediction market price to major sportsbooks can reveal whether traders are more or less confident than the betting public. Significant gaps may signal value or highlight where consensus differs between venues.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each possible outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current odds reflect the ratio of shares held in the pool, and as traders place orders, prices adjust dynamically to balance supply and demand. Each outcome—draw, Aldosivi win, or Gimnasia win—has its own share price, and the sum of all outcome prices equals one dollar. This continuous pricing model ensures the market remains responsive to new information and trader conviction right up until resolution.
This market resolves around Aug 2, 2026, once the second half of the Aldosivi vs. Gimnasia match concludes and the result is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the final score recorded in the second half only—whether Aldosivi scores more goals, Gimnasia scores more goals, or both teams score equally. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome receive their payout, while incorrect positions expire worthless. Resolution typically occurs within hours of the final whistle, pending confirmation from official match records.
Several factors could shift prices significantly before Aug 2, 2026. Team news—injuries, suspensions, or lineup changes announced closer to kickoff—often triggers sharp moves as traders reassess win probabilities. First-half results are a major catalyst; if one team dominates the opening 45 minutes, second-half outcome odds will adjust accordingly. Weather conditions, referee assignments, and recent form updates can also influence sentiment. Additionally, any official postponement or venue changes would trigger immediate repricing. Real-time match commentary and live scoring during the first half typically generate the most volatile price action in the hours immediately before the second half begins.
