Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often incorporating information and analysis not immediately available to traditional sportsbooks. While sportsbooks set initial lines based on team statistics and expert opinions, this market allows traders to adjust probabilities as new information emerges, such as player injuries or changes in strategy. Discrepancies can arise due to differing levels of information access and the incentives of participants – prediction markets reward accurate forecasts, while sportsbooks prioritize profit margins. It’s common to see prediction markets move faster to reflect impactful news.
