Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from sportsbook odds, which are often set by analysts. Sportsbooks may incorporate factors like public perception or promotional offers, while this market relies purely on traders’ willingness to buy or sell based on their own analysis. It’s common to see discrepancies, particularly before significant events or breaking news. Examining these differences can offer insights into where the market believes sportsbooks may be over or underestimating the probability of a particular outcome.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular result, its price increases, and the implied probability rises. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price reflects the collective assessment of all participants, making it a dynamic and responsive indicator of expectations for the Bristol City vs. Watford second half.

This market resolves around Sep 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result will be based on which team—Bristol City FC or Watford FC—wins the second half of the match, or if the second half ends in a draw. The official result, as reported by a reputable sports data provider, will be used to determine the winning outcome and settle the market. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on the final result.

Several factors could influence this market before resolution. Any news regarding team injuries, changes in starting lineups, or tactical adjustments could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected weather conditions or referee announcements might also play a role. Furthermore, in-game events during the first half, such as early goals or red cards, would likely cause significant price movement. Overall match form and recent performance of both teams are also continually factored into traders’ assessments, leading to fluctuations in the market’s pricing.
