Frequently asked questions

Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those offered by traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while this market allows traders to directly assess probabilities. If a significant discrepancy exists between the implied probability on Polymarket and sportsbook odds, it may indicate that market participants believe the sportsbook is mispricing the event. However, it's important to remember that both represent different forms of opinion and analysis regarding the outcome of the match.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous exchange where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust to reflect the collective wisdom of the crowd. The market's price movements are driven by supply and demand, with increased buying pressure raising the price and increased selling pressure lowering it.

This market resolves around Sep 6, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will depend on which team, Brighton and Hove Albion WFC or Arsenal WFC, scores the first goal in the match. The official match records will be used to determine the winning outcome. Traders will be able to claim their winnings once the result is officially declared and processed on Polymarket.

Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Brighton or Arsenal would likely cause significant movement. Changes in team form, tactical adjustments, or even weather conditions on match day could also impact trader sentiment. Unexpected announcements about team lineups or pre-match interviews with managers could also shift the odds, as traders react to new information and reassess the probabilities of each team scoring first.
