Prediction market odds often offer a different perspective than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market reflects the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to accurately forecast the outcome. Generally, prediction markets tend to be more accurate than traditional polls or expert opinions, and can sometimes diverge significantly from sportsbook lines, especially when public sentiment is heavily biased. It’s common to see differences in implied probabilities between this market and those offered by sportsbooks, reflecting varying assessments of the event’s likelihood.
On Limitless, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders can buy and sell contracts representing a 'yes' or 'no' outcome to the question of whether Brentford will win by two or more goals. The price of these contracts fluctuates based on supply and demand, directly reflecting the collective belief of traders. On Limitless, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price indicates the market’s implied probability of the event occurring, and traders aim to profit by correctly anticipating the outcome and trading accordingly. The volume of $1 suggests active participation in this market.
