Description

In the upcoming FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup game between Brazil and Canada, scheduled for September 8, 2026 at 9:00 AM ET: This market will resolve based on the final score of the Brazil vs. Canada match originally scheduled for September 8, 2026 at 9:00 AM ET, considering only the result at the end of 90 minutes of regulation plus stoppage time; extra time and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. If the actual score is not one of the explicitly listed outcomes, the market resolves to "Any Other Score." If the match is postponed, the market will remain open until it is completed; if it is canceled with no make-up game, the market resolves to "0-0." The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of bettors, potentially incorporating information not readily available to traditional sportsbooks. While sportsbooks set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, this market allows anyone to trade on their beliefs, leading to odds that can diverge from those offered by sportsbooks. It’s common to see prediction markets react more quickly to new information, such as injuries or changes in team form, than traditional betting venues. However, sportsbook odds remain a valuable point of comparison for assessing the perceived probability of different outcomes.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each possible exact score. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring. As more people buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting growing confidence. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market's price discovery process is driven by supply and demand; if many traders believe Brazil will win 1-3, they will purchase shares in that outcome, driving up its price until it reaches an equilibrium point determined by the opposing forces of buyers and sellers.

This market resolves around Sep 8, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final, official score of the Brazil vs. Canada match will be used to determine the winning outcome in this market. Resolution will occur promptly after the completion of the game, and the platform will verify the result against established sports data sources. Traders holding shares in the correct exact score will be entitled to a payout based on the final market price at the time of resolution.

Several factors could significantly influence the price action in this market. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Brazil or Canada would likely cause shifts in probabilities. Unexpected changes in team formations or tactical approaches announced by the coaches could also move the market. Furthermore, pre-match analysis from reputable sports commentators and analysts, if it deviates significantly from the current market consensus, could prompt traders to reassess their positions. Even weather conditions on match day could play a role, particularly if they favor one team’s playing style over the other.
